 At GOFI, we work to empower our clients to live independently, unencumbered by the challenges of daily living associated with medical disabilities. We match each client with a service dog that meets their individual needs.

•Established in 2015 by co-founders Pauline Hoegler and Kristen Lee. 

•Focuses on recipients with medical conditions such as epilepsy, autism, and diabetes.

•Uses a community centered approach in which we use local volunteers to help recipients raise and train their own dogs and assist with life skills.

•Using graduated recipients as mentors for recipients in training, GOFI will provide continued education and assistance for the life of the dog.

 Our programis unique in that we also offer supportive social programs for service dog recipients by involving them in training from the very beginning. Recipients take part in organized training sessions and puppy socialization outings that provide life skills training and supportive social groups.

Established in 2015, Golden Opportunities for Independence is dedicated to providing those in need with the opportunity to live their lives to the fullest extent. GOFI not only trains service dogs for placement but strives to provide support and friendship to recipients.  GOFI’s success is made possible through the teamwork of committed staff, volunteers, and community partners.
