Golden Opportunities for Independence In Walpole is a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization
•Established in 2013 by co-founders Pauline Hoegler and Kristen Lee.
•Focus on recipients with medical conditions such as epilepsy, autism, and diabetes.
•Use a community centered approach in which we use local volunteers to help recipients raise and train their own dogs and assist with life skills.
•Using graduated recipients as mentors for recipients in training, GOFI will provide continued education and assistance for the life of the dog.
Our programis unique in that we also offer supportive social programs for service dog recipients by involving them in training from the very beginning. Recipients take part in organized training sessions, puppy socialization outings providing social skills training for recipients and supportive social groups.
Established in 2013, Golden Opportunities for Independence is dedicated to providing those in need with the opportunity to live their lives to the fullest extent. GOFI not only trains service dogs for placement but strives to provide support and friendship to recipients. GOFI’s success is made possible through the teamwork of committed staff, volunteers and community partners.
